During the Edo period, Arita artisans incorporated various artistic styles unique to Japan. One of these was the Rinpa style, perfected by Kōrin Ogata, known for its bold compositions and vibrant colors depicting familiar subjects such as garden trees and flowers.
This pattern is a reproduction of a design representative of the Ko-Imari style :

  • Large chrysanthemums in full bloom against an indigo background,

  • Garden trees visible through painted windows,

  • A harmonious combination of white porcelain, colorful illustrations, and gold.
It is a luxurious and iconic piece of Arita ceramics.

The inside of the incense burner is fitted with a flower-shaped holder, allowing use with incense sticks and cones without adding ash.
