Decorated with gold leaf, the sumptuous Takaoka incense burner is an ode to elegance and refinement.

In Japan, these beautiful incense burners are objects of worship, precious gifts, and an essential element of home decor. Fill your incense burner with rice ash so you can insert the incense sticks. Since there's no bamboo holder, they burn completely without leaving a trace.

Traditional Takaoka cast iron
In 1611, Maeda Toshinaga, lord of the Kaga domain in Takaoka City, invited seven metalworkers to stimulate the local economy. This event marked the beginning of a long tradition of metal casting, the skills of which have been passed down through generations to this day. Although it has declined in recent decades, the Takaoka region remains the most important center for cast iron production in Japan. Takaoka copper craftsmanship has even been recognized as a National Traditional Craft and an Intangible Cultural Property.
